Our last blog in the “False Cognates” series will be on the verb “to introduce”.
Every time I used to introduce someone in Spanish, I used the word “introducir” not knowing it was not the correct word for “to introduce” someone. Then one day I heard my Spanish speaking friend use the verb “presentar” when she introduced her husband to me. Oh… It is an important word to know because you will be using it over and over when you meet new Spanish-speaking friends!
- presentar = to introduce
¿Podría presentarle a mi papá, Andres?
